Trail Boss, formerly an IMR powder now available under the Hodgdon label, was developed specifically for low velocity lead bullets suitable for Cowboy Action shooting. It is primarily a pistol powder, but it can also be used in rifles. It is based on a completely new technology that allows for very high loading density, good flow through powder measures, stability in extreme temperature variations, and, most importantly, increased handloader safety.
